Hello and Welcome to First Grade! We are very excited about the upcoming school year and all the fun and learning we are going to do. We would like to take a minute and tell you a little about ourselves.
Lisa Bishop:
Wow! This is going to be my 29th year of teaching and my 5th year at Beachland. I have taught in 5 different schools in this county and all in Kindergarten through second. I was born and raised in New Jersey and went to William Paterson College. I got my degree in Early Childhood Education. I moved to Florida in 1992, and got my first teaching job at Fellsmere Elementary. After 4 years there, I moved to Highlands Elementary (Indian River Academy) for 10 years. Next I moved to Treasure Coast Elementary for 8 years and then to Dodgertown Elementary for 2 years. I saved the best for last and moved to Beachland. During those years, I gained a lot of knowledge and training. By always researching and keeping up to date with education helps me to be highly effective teacher. I have been rewarded Teacher of the Year 2 times in this county, onces at Highlands and the other at Treasure Coast Elementary. I am always searching for new and better ways to teach my students.
Sarah Evans:
I moved to Florida from Ohio about 14 years ago and have 2 boys that are all boy! I have been teaching for 8 years with this being my 6th year at Beachland. I love calling Beachland home and feel blessed that my own children get to be apart of this wonderful place. I love the staff and culture that makes Beachland such a wonderful school. My favorite part of teaching is getting to see all of my students every day. Getting to know them and having the opportunity to enstill them with a love of learning makes my job like no other.
